Anchor

I’m a proud Texan, born and raised in the small town of Seymour. I come to WHIO-TV from Lubbock, Texas, where I served as weekend anchor, producer and reporter for the local Fox affiliate, Fox34. I kind of fell into television news on accident. I attended Texas Tech University, where I served as an editor and reporter for the nationally-recognized Daily Toreador student newspaper. During my tenure, I won three Gold Circle Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to take my career in. On a whim during my senior year, I applied to be an intern at Fox34, thus began my career in broadcast journalism. Having absolutely no on-camera experience, imagine my surprise when they thought I was talented enough to be put on TV. I was immediately hired there as a broadcaster upon graduation and even won the first available “Employee of the Quarter” award. Initially hired as a reporter, within two months, I was quickly promoted to weekend anchor, where I served at the position for more than two years before coming to Dayton. I currently anchor weekends on WHIO while producing newscasts behind the scenes during the week. I like to start my day every morning with an iced coffee from Dunkin’. I’ve never lived outside of Texas, and I’ve been very much enjoying what the Miami Valley has to offer as I explore my new state and much of the Midwest with my boyfriend and our sweet dog.
