The game was delayed for 1 hour, 43 minutes following the seventh inning Tuesday night and rain delayed Monday’s game.

But this time, the Reds prevailed beating the Orioles, 3-1, at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

Rookie pitcher Andrew Abbott pitched six innings to snap Cincinnati’s three-game losing after they had won 12 straight. He allowed a run and two hits in six innings in his fifth career start but improved to 4-0. Abbott walked three and struck out eight.

Matt McLain drove in two runs, including a home run in the sixth that put the Reds, 2-1. T.J. Friedl added a homer in the eighth to extend the lead to 3-1.

Closer Alexis Diaz got the first two men out in the ninth but hit a batter and walked Adam Frazier to put the tying run on base. But Austin Hays lined out to center to end the game.

The Orioles won the first game of the series, 10-3, Monday night.

Cincinnati and Baltimore will play the rubber game of the series Wednesday night.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. in Baltimore.
