PREBLE COUNTY — A person is dead after a crash in Preble County Monday morning.
Nicholas Emrick, 20, of New Lebanon, was identified as the driver killed in the crash on Preble County Line Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

Emrick was heading north when he lost control of his 2015 Ford sedan.
Troopers and Preble County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched just after 7:30 a.m. to the 70 block of Preble County Line Road on initial reports of a vehicle crashing into a pole.

Troopers said he failed to yield for a stop sign at the intersection of US 35, went airborne, and hit an electric pole and a tree.
Emrick died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
