Reds score 4 times to win series at Baltimore in 10 innings

BALTIMORE — The Cincinnati Reds continued to get some clutch hitting as they beat the Baltimore Orioles, 11-7, in ten innings Wednesday night.

The Reds scored four runs in the top of the tenth inning.

Will Benson hit a go-ahead triple and T.J. Friedl followed with a two-run homer to put them up, 10-7. Luke Maile scored off a Keegan Aikin wild pitch to cap the scoring.

In the bottom of the inning, Fernando Cruz gave up an infield single to Austin Hays and then struck out the side to end the game.

Alexis Diaz got the win for Cincinnati.

The Reds began the game by scoring three runs in the first inning, but Baltimore responded with four runs in their half of the first to go up, 4-3.

Cincinnati scored three times in the second to take a 6-4 advantage. They added another run in the eighth to increase it to 7-4. Baltimore scored three times in their half of the eighth to tie it 7-7.

The Reds lead Milwaukee by a half-game in the NL Central.

Cincinnati begins a three-game series hosting San Diego on Friday.

First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. at Great American Ball Park.
